Commissioned by IN10 we developed the new corporate identity for Rotterdam Blijdorp Zoo, together with Nicole Sanberg. In addition we made the design for the new Blijdorp magazine, ‘De Giraffe‘.
The central theme in the repositioning of Rotterdam Blijdorp Zoo is the encounter between humans, plants and animals. The Zoo’s visitors and the magazine’s readers are encouraged to gain more knowledge about plants and animals.
The triangle between humans, animals and plants, is also reflected in the visual identity, in various flags and in the logo’s label, when it’s used on a dark or photographic background.
Rob Doolaard is the resident animal photographer of Blijdorp Zoo. He took the iconic image of the encounter with the polar bear (see above). Annet Delfgauw further expanded the image library with a set of dynamic images of new encounters.
IN10 provided the interaction and visual design for the new website. Menno Luitjes ztook care of the web development and Kim Opmeer of the project management.
